We support the sustainability of Kaua`i in our choice of vendors and suppliers. Much of our produce comes fresh from the many Farmers' Markets here on the Island. Our intention is to provide as much organic, locally grown ingredients as possible. Hawai`i is famous for it's Sealife, and some of the world's most exotic, delicious fish are caught right here at home.
Your Chef on Kaua`i also supports KKCR, our local- and Hawai`i's only- Community Radio Station, by providing lunch to the KKCR Volunteers and Programmers during the fund drives amd pledging to their WaveRider program. We are also active in Kaua`i's Eco-Roundtable and participate in our Island's monthly Vegetarian Society's luncheon. In August 2008, we organized the "Jam at the Harbor" Jam Contest (and unofficially took Third Place with our Banana Jam!)
was created in 2006 out of a desire to connect with people who love the things I do...beautiful Kaua`i and fun and fabulous food. Working in the San Diego Catering Industry for twenty years allowed me the opportunity to experience all types of events- from large weddings to intimate dinner parties for two. I found that I really peferred being able to interact with my clients in a more personal way, providing a sense of family in the Ohana spirit, and a Personal Chef fulfills that intention. I love cooking for others and the exchange of healing energy "when Nourishing and Nuturing occur simultaneously!" I am very gratified that most of my business comes from referrals.
was raised in the heart of Illinois, but her heart was captured by the warm winds of the West Coast. Moving to Southern California in her early adulthood provided the impetus to go even further West to Hawai`i in the mid 70's. Living on O`ahu and Maui was a great introduction to "Local Food", and the two years spent in the Islands left it's imprint. After a move back to the US mainland, and a career change into the Gourmet Food industry, Sandy's natural skills as a cook were refined by working with Chef Ernst Wally and others in the San Diego area. In 1996, she adopted a Vegetarian lifestyle, which began a new creative adventure in cooking. That has become her forte, and she has established a fine reputation with Spiritual Retreat Groups requiring Vegetarian/Vegan menus. But Hawai`i was never far from mind, and in 2006 the tradewinds brought her home to Kaua`i. Her commitment to wholesome pleasure translates into a wonderful dining experience for you!
